Studios usually have really cheap intro deals, good way to see what a town is about and you can meet people (or you get to be the mysterious newcomer that everyone whispers about)

google the studio first because most have first time visitor freebies. you're not gonna push yourself as hard (and avoid injury) doing youtube vids alone in your room. and then you get to make friends with people you might not share regular space with otherwise. better harmony with the OM irl too...

Go to yoga a few nights a week. Most studios have cheap trials (rotate through them). It’s critical that you go at night! Like 8 pm, which is when you’re most likely to feel lonely or miss your former significant other. Afterward, go straight home, shower, and wind down for bed.

EDIT: more details -> i’ve definitely had times in my life where I’m so down bad that I can’t even focus in yoga… But for the most part, if I go to a pretty packed class that’s longer than an hour I feel way better when I walk out. Just try to look for an instructor who has some personality. I can rec if you’re in NYC!

a study issued last month found that dancing is the most effective way of treating and mitigating depression. Walking, therapy, and yoga also outpaced SSRIs. and if you're saying 'oh this was probably funded by Big Dance', there's no evidence of that and if you're saying 'that's just what a Big Dance shill would say', well honey you're right
