decided it's a gonna be a stream of consciousness summer. after a fantastic love affair with 'milkman' by anna burns (said with certainity( favourite book ever)) i heard it was a stream of consciousness style(i thought it was jsut mosfegh et al. vibes) and that lad joyce did a stream of consciousness too, i guess i'll have to read ulysses if it gets me close to enjoyment of like man. also currently trying to read picture of dorion gray and imlike.... . . dpmo oscar why is he called basil? πΏ so i am genuinelly sooo excited to read ulyssess. .... jsut feels so right and it'll be a ball so. oh and dacid foster wallace will also make an appearnce . anyone got great reccs for stream of consciousness a la milkman? oh an have a great sumemr and may your reading habits rear in a great sunny time.

try and wish as i might to dislodge the opening sentence from the corner of permanency of my brain, it won't shift. because it's just that good. so delicious and juicy and evocative and rhythmic that every time i peel open the well-loved, well-worn, well-aged copy of the book, i am unable to stop reading at just that first line.

at once it's hot and sticky and bad things are in the air and it's all whimsical and meandering and at lost. i am there on the sidewalk, melting into the cement, unsure of it all.

While its reputation as impenetrable holds up, keep in mind that James Joyce said there isn't a single serious line in this book -- that's the best way to experience the book, both an ode to and exhaustive examination of unseriousness.
The books about Ulysses (especially Ulysses and Us: A Guide to Everyday Living) are also great.

The thing on the book says essays in praise of excess which I thought idk would be like about kitsch John waters type shit which would have been tight but itβs about a lot of things?? itβs been very good summer reading and a lot of good things here besides being good and enjoyable itβs jump starting a lot of topics for my own writing

trust- this will be the timeless trend tradiition for millenium to come. the ballerinas tennis- the circumfrence of agility and grace and galloping badminton is this. tennis is for the weak-minded who must laze in the simulacra of grass and hitthings really hard but badminton lives in the sports hall among squash and gymnastics and karate. aswell, easy to pick up and play. importanttly, it is a very fashionable sport. you cna roam around with your racket bag and everyone encountered will know ur slay.
