these are the quick or long snippets at the end of a few different shows, the more popular ones being The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. they always intrigued me, but would usually go away too quick for me to read them. I paused it one time and was able to look it up and found the archives of all of them. I was quickly invested. I love the humor, wittiness, and wisdom of the cards. they cover a wide spectrum of themes, so there’s something for everyone to relate to (the most recent vanity card is what I linked, but you can filter it for the show you want and the date you want. have fun reading!)

I think Uber, Lyft, or yellow cab drivers know me the best. I think it’s easy to read someone when they are kinda trapped in a cab. I probably have told these drivers more than my own friends...lucky them. Anyways, it brings me to Taxicab Confessions, the HBO series that ran from 1995 - 2006. (Glory years were in NYC from 95-96 until Rudy Guiliani shut the show down!) Basically, the driver would film their passengers doing whatever and talking about whatever. I thought it was just me but other people like to divulge everything when they are in a car...The one that has stuck most with me is this drunk girl, who I later found out was an actress and co-wrote American Psycho, talking about how she envisions herself with someone. “I never, like, wanna get normal. I wanna be, like, making love to you, day and night, night and day. I don’t want to shop with you. That’s fucked up.”...Oomph. You get the picture. The clip is available on YouTube. I posted one to my Instagram of this rock dude in the back of a cab acting crazy with this girl and actually, my coworker knew the guy and tagged him...he’s Sean Pierce of The Toilet Boys. He explained that it was a setup between him and the cab driver who was the director Todd Phillips. I love the series so much I have merch from it. PS. The writer C. Brian Smith did an amazing oral history about the series for Mel Magazine (RIP!).

I cannot live without my routine of scrolling through Curb clips/memes/full episodes. Larry David’s orbit is so deeply comforting to me. They love and tolerate him even when he’s horrible. It’s kind of how I felt about Garfield the comic when I was a kid. I love to witness a curmudgeon in their safe space to be curmudgeonly. I feel that way with my friends.

Was watching this video from Andrew Schulz's Podcast and was thinking to myself "what chuckleheads" and it hit right.

even the smallest things may not seem to matter in the moment, but when you fast forward a bit, you may be trying to grasp the memory without any luck. writing things down, taking pictures, collecting, etc. is all so important.

my parents used to judge me and think I was weird for talking to myself when I was younger. I’m sure they still do, but they’re less vocal about it as they used to be. for context, I’m an only child, so talking to myself was nice for when I was bored or whatnot. it’s also helpful for sorting through my thoughts. it’s good to get things out when I don’t feel like talking to anyone in particular. I like to think of it as my own personal podcast.

I’m so glad I found this app. I was looking for a place where I can share more about myself without feeling judged by the people around me. now people can feel a connection towards me being truly myself instead of the mask I’ve been conditioned to put on for others. I imagine handing someone I’ve just met a paper with a link to this profile on it as a fun experiment
