best band of allll the bands in my humble opinion. LOT is really a band that can be digested in infinitely many ways, as many ways as the emotions they produce. lizzie powell’s voice is full of caring, raw beauty, and intensity to match. every song is remarkably unique, and I mean that in many ways; from the masterful songwriting that keeps you guessing, to lizzie’s mysterious and beautiful lyrics and free voice. anyways I could go on and on but if you like harder stuff start with their first EP applause cheer boo hiss, if you like softer stuff maybe start with life after youth. if you want my opinion, it’s all great but some are lakes is my favorite album ever. lizzie powell is also a great person that uses their platform for positive activism, a definite added bonus!

⭐please take a moment to listen to 5LOKO, one of the greatest diy indie projects out there right now. i met t and raf through the beautiful magic of timing and the internet at the start of covid and had the honor of not only making two wonderful friends, but also getting to collaborate in the creation of some art to compliment their own work: making single cover art for them, working on one of my first two person portrait/lifestyle shoots with them, shooting & making posters for their shows (and also now cooking up an even bigger project??? stay tuned hehe). honestly, ever since we all met up together for the first time, ive just been on a mission to get them on the map…simply put: they are just too goated to fail. if you have any time today, please just listen to at least one song of theirs or their latest album New Beatles and let me know what songs resonate with u 🧚

speaking of solo concerts, i went to The Beths last night for the second time this year and wow, they are truly one of my favorite bands ever. Australian indie rock band with an incredible show both times. tight tight TIGHT band. danced my shit off, incredible guitar lines, the whole band sings backup vocals while they play, it’s unreal. feels like driving 95 down a highway or running as fast as you can until you fall straight into a body of water. feels like the most charming and poignant ways to sing about a breakup. feels like I LOVE LIVE MUSIC!!! ran into a friend at the show who told me they found The Beths through a playlist i made and got hooked. made my night. maybe you will be next

Okayyy hello another one of my fav songs!! I am trying to be more purposeful with my reviews from here on out.. I got recommended this song through le algorithm. In like 2022, I started listening to more shoegaze, dream pop, indie rock, idk what ever this genre is (genre is marketing tool anyways). So I'm glad this song made it into my feed. 2020-2023 worse yrs ever… I got to listen to music all day at my office job, so I found a lot of good music. I listen to sad music when I'm sad, and I was realyyy sad 🤣Crazy Town made me happy:) Definitely a feel good song for me, it never gets old! I fuck with Velocity Girl 💯💯I love that around this time in the 90s small bands were getting picked up by college radio stations (which ppl should listen to more often) Sub Pop was also in its prime, and Velocity Girl got picked up by them. The album that this song is on, Copacetic, is spectacular and was recorded in less than a week!!! P good for a debut alb 👍🏻In most songs it's the guitar that really gets me before the vocals or anything else. I like that the guitar sounds like “clean” shoegaze. Its sounds so epic to me the melody is also catchy and simple yet it gets the job done👍🏻Her vocals are so soft and sweet 🕊️its also easy for me to sing in the car (bad singer) Can’t help the urge to jump up and down and go crazyyyyyy while listening😝Brings me joy<3 Honestly thats all I got for this review it just sounds awesome nothing specific..🤪Album art also goes crazyyy fuzzy colors and genius text placement?... I like😎Also classic one girl in a band of boys
