I watched The Last Unicorn so much the tape died a slow and painful death. The household VHS of MLP survived a lot longer but I'm pretty sure that everyone else in the house wished it would die. Honorable mentions: Goonies(1985),  The Neverending Story(1984), Puss In Boots(1988), Labyrinth(1986), Red Riding Hood(1987), and The Dark Crystal(1982).

• Pocoyo (taught me about drawing, space and perspective). • Scooby Doo. I feel like this show in particular is really old school in terms of it having no lore behind it. It’s the same pattern for every episode and I think it’s kind of like a Time Machine of what used to be for children’s shows. • American Dragon: Jake Long. Used to watch a lot before going to school. The plot was so enthralling. • The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. Loved the dark humor incorporated into it. • Phineas & Ferb. Catchy songs, a platypus and humans with weird heads. •The Powerpuff Girls. Need I say more? Movies: • Anastasia (1997). Kickstarted my obsession with the Romanovs. Lead me to google wayyyy to young what had happened to Anastasia in real life. That was bleak. • Old Barbie movies. My favorites were The Princess and the Pauper, Rapunzel, Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus. Used to watch these all the time. They really incorporated the whimsy and made me want to live like a peasant in the medieval era under a monarchy. • Ella Enchanted (2004). • The Princess Diaries 1 & 2. • Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan and JLC (2003). • Hocus Pocus (1993).

Also got a bad memory and have too many favorite so here are three lists based on physical media eras: VHS—Jurassic Park, Toy Story, Homeward Bound, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (shoot, and The Princess Bride) VCD—The Jungle Book (1994), Charlie’s Angels, The Emperor’s New Groove, Sleepy Hollow (a lot of these were replacing VHS tapes that died) DVD—The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Napoleon Dynamite

The first album that I bought was a .25 yardsale cassette of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. No case or album art. I couldn't even tell you why I chose it but I was absolutely hooked when I popped it in my tape player when I got back home. If we're talking full price CDs from the store, my first was Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. My dad told me not to waste my money buying an album for just one song. I had to insist that there were 3 songs that I knew I liked and I wanted the album to see if there were more. There were, in fact, a couple more songs I liked but, if my memory is right, I only really listened to the first half and then really disliked the second half.
