Technology was really my bff. I always liked writing but I was slow, so I would have backups of the info.
• Try to record voice notes or videos of the lesson if they let you.
• Take pictures of the board and dedicate yourself to write, not what the board says, but what the teacher is talking about. Sometimes they’re two different things on the same subject.
• If you’re still writing while the lesson is taking place, practice active hearing. It’s an important skill to develop while taking notes. You cannot space out.
• Even if you have info backups, always write and do it manually. If you’ve decided to record the whole thing and not write a single word until you get free time, try to do it on the same day the lesson took place in, because the info will be fresh and that’s how you’ll get to memorize and internalize all the things you’ve collected.
• Label every piece of information correctly because it can become difficult to find multiple sources you’ve created and it can be messy to your note-taking process.
