Listen, some days I really do pull out all the stops and get the nice jeans and the nice shirts and the nice shoes. But some days I’m on 100% dad mode, which means an old carhartt t-shirt, soccer shorts and Blundstones. I am ready to get things done.

In actuality though, I don’t think you can go wrong with a good fitting set of jeans and T-shirt. I pretty much am always wearing some kind of combination. This particular one is because I am going to work today (I already had to change because my daughter got this one dirty). If I wasn’t working, it would probably be cropped jeans and a graphic tee of some sort.
It feels confessional to share that I have never considered myself to be stylish. I just want comfort and mobility. Ya girls gotta move!!!

Maybe not actively badly but at least not in an exciting way. I work long shifts and late nights and do a lot of walking at work so I usually wear a variant of comfy jeans, trainers and a jumper. And when you get to hour 10 the makeup and hair situation is just abysmal tbh. Anyway dressing simply at work is fine by me because when you decide to put even a little bit of effort in every single person you work with will lose their minds. I went to see a show yesterday (I work in a music venue) wearing a mini skirt and received approximately 800 compliments and now my ego is boosted for the next 30 business days.

I feel like there’s a special connectivity on this app that I haven’t felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010’s tumblr. The fact that you can’t promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isn’t mass video content like Tik Tok is great. It’s not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup).
Thanks for your participation on this niche little app. I smile reading all the recs and all the comments and all the asks. Hope we’ll all be here for a long time.

In all seriousness — weird that an app I downloaded in April would make genuinely want to drive back into Brooklyn during end of day traffic for a happy hour. Great app filled with great people.

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. It’s made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love.
I just never thought I’d feel the same way about URL friends. I’m constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed.
It’s nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. I’m going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
