I posted this as a comment a bit ago and seems to be a shared sentiment.. how does the general pifi population feel about this?? Might be a way to boost Ask engagement

or maybe the option to have it as a rec or comment I’m not sure tho that could get quite messy

@OMNIPRESENT_PHOTON Exactly I’ve always thought the option would be nice.. sometimes I want to add on to the ask itself

@TYLER i feel like i would be more likely to respond to asks if it was more like a comment instead of its own post in the feed AND it also had some features of the share post format, like links + pics, etc. i get sad when i go to answer a rec and it becomes something different from the original ask. and i can’t post an emoji with it. (lol) i’m throwing pasta at the wall seeing what sticks haha

I think it’d be useful and nice! E.g. someone asked for suggestions of what to do in my city, and I’d like to be able to ask something like “what kind of stuff do you like doing” before making my rec.

What happens if PI.FYI were to have 100x as many users? Right now it is a beautiful thing—I offer that as a newbie—notable in part for the sense of smallness and intimacy. I'm wondering how the dynamic shifts if things get way bigger and what kind of tweaks will need to be made to both handle that growth and keep the spirit of things as they are now. This is less of a suggestion and more of a rumination on what may be a future challenge... One way to keep things tight: more granular tools, such as a post-by-post permissions options for comments. The poster would be able to define who can reply to their Ask or comment on their Rec, maybe selecting from three options: Anyone, Pro only, Friends only. (My Opinion: All Recs should always be public — but interaction permissions should be editable.) The goal with this wouldn't be to shut out users for the sake of control but to keep the conversation manageable — getting a thousand comments on a rec would just be awful. -- And it also makes sense that having access to post permissions settings and other settings should only be for Pro users. If that's the business model then it has to be incentivized.

My god everything is experienced better this way. Stop looking at guides, walkthroughs, endings explained (my least favorite), even the blurbs on the back. Such a rare opportunity in this time to go into something without knowing anything about it, yet so rewarding. To be pleasantly surprised or blown away, to have no idea what’s happening, to find that you really didn’t like it, an opinion formed on your own.. nothing is more valuable
