This is normally not my style of music, but the amount of talent and joy in this video is just awesome. The way Susan Tedeschi plays around with total command of her voice, the glances between her and her husband as he takes the guitar for a spin, the backup singers letting it rip, drummer with the toothpick just chilling in the back, sax going crazy, trombone player having the time of their life. They look like a bunch of high school teachers just blowing off steam, having some fun. Tedeschi looks like she could be standing in line at a st*rbucks in the suburbs and here she is belting out these full husky notes. Incredible watch.

Few thoughts:
1. For any deconstruction / evangelical folks, JMM has been an incredible voice for reason through it all. His way of seeing things has given me hope for a non-bigoted faith journey.
2. The vertical video??? 8 years ago??? In a pre-Tik Tok world of watching long form videos vertically???
3. The song itself is wonderful and makes you want to dance and cry and yearn to be understood.

discovered this song after it came on in the credits for the film the outrun and it’s literally so good
the start literally hooks you with the crazy cool and unique accordion
then the rest of the song is also amazing i love the bittersweet feel of it with the line ‘this is the day your life will surely change’ that most people can relate to when you swear to yourself you’ll break your bad habits to make a better life for yourself, deciding that THIS will be the day youll change but you could say that any day again and again and never actually do anything to change or stick with it
