american shoegaze pioneers i think most ppl into the genre have heard of them but it’s worth putting here. it’s not as talked about as their other albums but it’s really unique lo-fi shoegaze/noise pop. all their music has such a distinct sound so give their discography a listen if you haven’t already.

two shoegaze bands formed in 2010, awesome sounds all around. linked is a split EP that they released, two songs from each band.
also one of my favorite shoegaze albums is beat by bowery electric. superb wall of sound, trip-hop drums and sparse lyrics.

Listen. shoegaze is fucking dope. not novel but it’s even better when it’s scary. I would recommend the song Thursday on Wings of Joy. The whole album is just out of control. The beautiful nymphette vocals that sound right out of the BCE, the liberal strings, the suspense, the drama. sounds like taking one too many oxycontin. last time i did that it was 2016 but i was listening to spooky black x clams casino (obviously)

they feel so much more welcoming to me. maybe it’s because they’ve been around the longest and always stand out more. i can recall an important memory from any year of my life involving them. also sharing earbuds with someone on the two little seats is the most romantic thing ever. gonna miss them but also i don’t mind the new trains.
