Sure, I definitely could buy that 9800X3D I want, and I could really use more money. I’m hyped about the Christian Dior chain I bought for way below MSRP. None of those things will truly make me happy though. Being content with what you have will. You don’t always have to have it all. That’s not to say you have to stop striving for more. To me, being content means recognizing the value in every relationship and experience you have, practicing gratitude, and simultaneously striving to be the best version of yourself you can be. When I was much younger, I thought clothes made the man, women only liked money, and that you always had to keep up with the Joneses. This materialist mentality robbed me of joy and happiness. Older wiser me knows that none of those things are true, that happiness comes from gratitude and comparison is the thief of joy.

it's an endless chase — as soon as it's attainable, the bar gets raised higher it's okay to still want it but you can save yourself from a little grief by remembering where it all comes from!

It's an interesting irony that with using a better iphone camera, I was afraid the better quality would magnify x100 my flaws like pores and skin imperfections. But your good features also show up even more clearly - even if your (muscle) memory is still trained from acne ridden years of family, and self-rejection. And the other funny thing is that I was thinking, because I never felt like, you know, happy, happy, but it's not that kind of happy. It's more like before, if I could get better, more money, better health, look thinner, or look better, or get a better job, have someone, you know, you love, who loves you, that will make you happy. But actually it's not like that at all. It's like I had to go through these quite horrific mentally and emotionally wrecking years and thank God finally got rid of a terrible toxic narcassist, and I realized happiness is actually someone not stealing you from you, not poisoning you, your life, not dragging you into their chaos (but blaming you, telling you you are TOO this and not enough that!!) That's happiness. It's actually a strange revelation. I mean, it's not so strange after you realize it, but before and after, that's what people think it is, is happiness is not what we expect it to be. The middle is real shit though. And I still don't know what tomorrow will bring. But God.

Some days feel so painful from all the stress, and yes I know it’s supposed to build character or what not. Honestly whoever said that never worked at a creative. Recently thought I’ve just been reminding myself “it’s okay… I’m getting by.” Seems odd to say out loud, but hurts less then keeping the thought in the body/mind!

Everything in your life does not have to be subscription based, and subscription does not equate a service being good. If I’m paying $24.99 a month to watch Netflix in 4K UHD, I should expect to see what I pay for, not subpar playback latency, low bitrate streams, many app crashes, and overall looking terrible on anything that isn’t a 4K display. Remember when you could buy things and own them, like, forever? There is a better world out there past Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and Amazon Prime.

You don’t have to tell everyone everything in/about your life, especially online, in today’s online yet frequently data-breached world. Like the great Christopher Wallace once said: Keep your family and business completely separated

I have a near-Biblical dislike of Allbirds shoes and every other Tim Cook Jeff Bezos Middle-aged Balding Pickleball coach ass shoe out there for convincing the public that these were in any way cool. No dude, you look like a loser with these. They look bland and lifeless, like they were concocted in the same boardroom that made the flat graphic design trend that Meta and Google love so much. Hell, even notorious ip-infringer Skechers makes better looking shoes than these. They don’t even feel good to wear. They have no soul or personality and yet some people swear by them. Who are these shoes for?
