I followed some guy on ig who would post pictures of him doing his favorite things with the caption “today I choose life”. He explained it was because for a while, he was fighting with life and so the mantra helped him look towards the beautiful things it has to offer.

and one day I started to live what I want to take with me.

I started to fill my days with pleasant experiences, I express what I feel, I open my heart because I don't hold back any longer, I don't leave things for later. I choose which people I want to come with me, and I tell them every day how much I love them, I look them in the eyes, I feel, I hug them. I laugh, I enjoy, because that is life. I enjoy the simple moments here and now, not tomorrow, NOW.

All honesty I stole this from Jimothy Lacoste after watching his Fader piece in high school but it’s stuck ever since. Being able to frame anything that happens in the lens of ‘life is getting quite exciting’ does actually make it better. I know it treads on toxic positivity but it also looks for a better future so idk just a nice mantra

living everyday to its fullest

ok this sounds cliche but idk how else to explain it… if theres a place to go, go if theres food to try, try it if theres art to make, make it going on my first instinct of “i want to do __” and immediately going for it has made my days a lot more fulfilling. if i feel like a walk i’ll just take a walk idc what time! there is so much potential for joy and meaning and peace in 24 hours. and im not gonna doom-scroll it away!
