dude I'm doing computer science coursework and using a pomodoro timer so I don't get bored out my mind (I'm on my 5 mins break rn) and it really works and this is coming from someone who really struggles with motivation to work!!!!

also pomodoro technique. Work for 25 min, break for 5, do this 4 times and take a 15-30 min break. Do something that isn’t scrolling during the breaks ideally I’m a freak with calendar blocking from working corporate America for this long so color coding and categorizing the time is somewhat exciting

Timers timers timers. I find that timers keep me on track, help when I don’t want to do a task but I must, and help space out my day in chunks. I get the most done in any category (job, chores, personal, art/hobby) when I use a timer

I love this brass mechanical counter I discovered at the SFMoMA store. It's the only product made by a local company, Nanu Electrics, and I use it to keep track of my Pomodoros (25 minute work intervals). It's so satisfying to press the button and having it out on my desk, I can see how much I've accomplished since I started using it and can anticipate the reward of getting to press the button :) Use it for tracking any goal, it goes up to 9,999!

ik it's sort of a given but just do it! I started learning guitar yesterday because I wanted too, not because anyone else does it, not because it's "trendy" to play guitar, but because I wanted to. it's liberating when you stop thinking about what other people might think about what you do, because it's nothing to do with them!!! also don't let anyone else say its performative because you know it isn't, so don't take it from someone who has no idea what they are talking about!!
