YOU DREAMED OF EMPIRES—ÁLVARO ENRIGUE

Incredibly detailed world building here taking the reader to the bustling and sacred city of Tenochtitlán, apart form the wonderful detail the dialog here it’s the fact that Enrigue was able to focus on and capture the humanity and awkwardness of a clash of two worlds. Would love to see this translated as a film, gives Tarantino + Sofia Coppola’s "Marie Antoinette"
