instead of doomscrolling the whole way, journaling while on the bus or train is very calming

I feel like it really helps clear your mind on a commute. Just let out the emotions you are feeling in that moment. What you’re happy or upset about, the type of day you wish to have and how to do it, or even just listing things you’re appreciative of or grateful for

genuinely believe journaling has saved my mental health but doing it in public alone is such a better alternative to going on your phone and also if you have a pretty notebook it's a great conversation starter

For me this is writing about my bus or subway trip. I don't remember to do it every time, but I'll occasionally write a few paragraphs about how it went. Where I was going, how I felt, what happened. Yeah, seems mundane, but you'd be surprised what can happen or just how your mood is different from day-to-day on your usual routine. Perhaps it's just a new creative challenge or you learn something new.

could have this album on loop for any situation. I was late getting around to it, but glad I didn’t avoid it in the end!
