this book was given to me by reed college when i got accepted there but i only read it this march. honestly such a life changing book. i really recommend this book (especially if you're black) as it was so incredible in its writing and themes. it reminded me a lot of the show atlanta (which i also love) because a lot of it felt surreal. i've recently begun to adore afro-surrealism because it often captures what it feels like to be black in america. if anyone knows of any other works that deal with similar themes, please recommend them! hopefully my summer reading list goes crazy lol
