the song is such a worthy piece to delve into artistically howeverā€¦ this vile man who created something i think is beautiful, a musical iteration of his bipolar disorder specifically 070 shakeā€™s chorus. when this came out in 2018 it rocked my world but obviously i donā€™t listen much anymore because i donā€™t want to support him. with everything happening in the world right now i catch myself humming it from time to timeā€¦

@WAKEUPLMD itā€™s so disheartening that people defend him ā€bc he made graduationā€ or some shit because if u were truly a fan of him you would know that he isnā€™t the same guy anymore.

@SHAKESPEARENEEDLEFREAK agree, I stopped taking what he said seriously after he and Trump became buddies but fully stopped listening after Donda 1. I knew that was his last hurrah and that it would be down from there. I didnā€™t realize how much downward he would go.

I looked up the lyrics of the closing track, ā€œCarrot Rope,ā€ on Genius because I had no idea what the song was aboutā€” they got me goodā€¦

Speaking of Louā€¦ What he could do with noise he could do with words too. This is one of my favorite truly narrative songs, and for me the most disturbing. When a certain character comes in near the end and tells the main speaker to head outā€¦ itā€™s with a rotten, bone-chilling, evil nonchalance that makes me feel sick for participating. His indifference to life outside himself is complete, and he looks you dead in the eyes expects the same :(

Longtime listener, first-time caller. S/O to Seattle's Michael Hadreas, who I first heard on KEXP years and years ago. His whole catalog is worth exploring (I particularly love 2020's "Set My Heart on Fire Immediately") and this one is from "Glory," due out later this spring. This dude has long touched on issues of importance to the LGBTQ community -- this track certainly includes some of these -- but we all do him/his music a disservice to categorize it as anything other than "fucking great" which best describes this song's ascending and descending guitar chords, heartbroken vocals and his transformation from diva/dandy to fully-blown (ironic/send-up of a) Hell's Angel, which is very much in tune with the weirdly toxic masculinity that seems to be so omnipresent right now. "It's a chorus reaching for us/ Swarming locusts wherever you go" Hells yes I can't wait for the full LP to drop.

1) i donā€™t need to be on the lookout for bugs. not my problem 2) it almost is like replicating the feeling of the womb? 3) i am just constantly so overstimulated so like instead having to Seek stimulation (via the shower water, reaching around for my shampoo and stuff) is really nice

yes i have a compliment journal HAHA i am just so difficult on myself and whenever people compliment me i think theyā€™re lying/just saying it to be kind but iā€™ve been writing them down lately in a journal i have to celebrate that even if they are Lying (which people never are btw and iā€™m working on believing that) they at least took the time to notice u to formulate this compliment holding space for being noticed and allowing yourself to be appreciated!
