Purely a vibe but one I am thankful for experiencing nightly. Some joys are just small enough to make all the difference. There’s something comforting about hearing the sound at the same time every night. Almost like a far away friend that routinely checks in on you.

the sound of traintracks

moving into this place a few years back, I was very worried about the noise that would come from the train tracks just a road away from us. i thought they would disturb my peace and wake me up, but instead it does the opposite. I love the sound of the horn going by. it is somehow comforting and does not wake me up at night. When I hear it, I know I’m gonna miss it when I move eventually. kind of like I do with the mourning doves from back home.

The sounds outside

The train horns, the police sirens, the howling Cyotes, the chatter of birds, hooting of owls and the screeching of small bats. I will always miss these sounds if I ever do lose them. They help me sleep but the more I sleep the more I miss them, a nice little paradox to dift me into slumber 🌌
