Unless you're in a group of four, you will essentially be forced to dine with strangers if you're on a sleeper train.
And it's been so *so* good for me(and my bad social skills) to connect with people different from me. If you want to get better at seeing the universal humanity you share with people, I'd highly recommend.
something about taking the amtrak is so nice. like I get to just zone out and listen to my music for three hours? great! the wifi is so terrible that it kind of forces me to be present.

The superior way to travel distances. Cafe car. Comfortable seats and space. Chargers. Big windows. You can meet people and watch the world go by. Exceedingly convenient. I have gone across the country on Amtrak. I take it round trip once a week to work. I love it dearly. I think people that complain itβs consistently inconvenient or slow are not living live for the love of the game and do not subject themselves to a healthy amount of adventure.
People have the craziest convos on a train (Iβm thinking Amtrak, Eurostar, etc) , especially the solo travelers who chat up the people sitting next to them. The last few times Iβve taken my headphones off on a train and tuned into the convos around me I learned and giggled a lot. Would highly recommend!
Poetically, this was going to be the last date before I delete Hinge and take a break for a few months.
