Unless you're in a group of four, you will essentially be forced to dine with strangers if you're on a sleeper train.
And it's been so *so* good for me(and my bad social skills) to connect with people different from me. If you want to get better at seeing the universal humanity you share with people, I'd highly recommend.
i love taking the Amtrak, the energy is always so good and I love being able to see the landscapes passing as my train makes itβs way through them
a great place to meet cool people (usually older folks afraid of flying) and very romantic when doing a long Amtrak ride with a partner
something about taking the amtrak is so nice. like I get to just zone out and listen to my music for three hours? great! the wifi is so terrible that it kind of forces me to be present.

The superior way to travel distances. Cafe car. Comfortable seats and space. Chargers. Big windows. You can meet people and watch the world go by. Exceedingly convenient. I have gone across the country on Amtrak. I take it round trip once a week to work. I love it dearly. I think people that complain itβs consistently inconvenient or slow are not living live for the love of the game and do not subject themselves to a healthy amount of adventure.
