assuming you're passing a lot of them.... i honestly entertain myself a lot on road trips by looking at the signs and how far you are away from something. if it gets too boring look up the wikipedia article for whatever county you're passing through or the nearest town - trying to learn something about where you are!!!

i almost always have "avoid highways" turned on when using google maps so i can see whats goin' on in the city. highways are soulless and i avoid i them as much as i can. if you've got the time, it's best way to see a sight you might've never seen otherwise. i've found lots of good signs, art, and restaurants this way. makes having to drive somewhere a little more interesting because heck....life's about the journey. ❤️

whenever i have a long phone call with a friend i totally unconsciously open google earth and pick a random road (usually in upstate new york) and just click forward and look at the scenery while we chat. its the road trip experience from your home! its a nice little thing to do with your hands while we talk but lets you stay engaged in the conversation.

reels are like... the mcdonalds of media except worse because mcdonalds is tasty. rarely do i ever get a reel that i'm like ohoho!!! thank god i came across this!!! i've largely split from using ig at all because of how easy it is to lose yourself in reels + how shitty i feel after. fuck short form portrait doomscrolling all my homies hate short form portrait doomscrolling
i guess you don't HAVE to use a rec as a rec, but maybe have a third option other than rec and ask. maybe just call it thoughts? for when you have a thought or a feeling that you want to share but it isn't a recommendation. maybe having an anti-rec option under recs, too! like a drop down when you do choose to make a rec, you can choose to anti-rec. make sense?? lastly, having changing your email/password built into the settings. i ran into this the other day when i put my email in wrong and had to get ahold of you guys!!
