Put on my jazz playlist, can’t sleep. Keep thinking about how I feel like everyone hates me, and oddly, the invitation to a life of solitude is somewhat indifferent, perhaps even a bit thrilling.

Being a jazz musician, I am incredibly biased toward jazz as a genre, and it's even more unsurprising that I absolutely adore going to any gig around town that I can find.
Tonight I find myself face-to-face with a friend I didn't expect to see, his voice just as beautiful as ever, going through standard after standard with hardly a sweat, even through the terribly hot night.
Nothing I love more than my coffee, American Spirit, jazz, and some conversation with perfect strangers.

old jazz, new jazz, all jazz is absolute GOLD. soothes the soul and mind. transports me to a place of utter bliss. even doing something I don’t like, I put on a jazz playlist and I can physically feel all of my stress dissipate.
I could listen to it at any hour, but I think it really hits different late at night or super early in the morning.

I wish I could speak every language to converse with everyone around the world! There’s something tantalizing about having this ability. Perhaps because deep conversations are a doorway into someone‘s upbringing and people’s cultures, and there is so much joy in hearing someone‘s story. In another lifetime, surely I was a polyglot enjoying company from people all around the world!
