im aware this is the ideal amount, but i think the more i strive to achieve this number perfectly, the more stressed i get with sleep and become sleep deprived. i wake up in the middle of the night 90% of the time, my parents deal with this too, and one of my goals is to go back to sleep faster. tracking my sleep cycle puts me at sleeping for 7 hours a night and i feel fine. im actually proud. once i let go of ”8 hours of sleep”, i feel like my sleep has gotten better

Last year in college I got in to the really bad habit of sleeping like 5 hours every night, which to me is the bare minimum for me to be a functioning human. Now that I have tried to prioritize sleep, I find that I‘m more focused in class and more focused on finishing assignments concisely so I can hit the hay. Lowkey recommend, but I also don’t feel like 6 hours is that bad if that’s working out for you.

recently i realized i don’t need as much sleep as i thought i feel totally fine with 7ish when previously i was convinced i needed more in the 8-10 range i wake up feeling tired either way so why not get a few hours back in my day?

i started tracking how much i sleep in a week and my life genuinely gets so much better when i sleep at least 7 hours every day. it completely changes my demeanor and mood to the point where i am noticeably happier. also i’m WAY less anxious and that’s always a plus. i am not currently in one of those weeks, but a guy can dream🤷‍♂️
