I have a love/hate relationship with Grailed. Even so, the few articles of clothing I’ve bought this year so far have been off there. A majority of my clothes (including designer) are second hand. Not all are bought from Grailed; lets say I’m looking for a nice pair of chelsea boots from Loake or The Kooples, I’m not going to find those looking at my Goodwill, they’ll be on Grailed. Only thing I bought from SSENSE this year was new eau de parfum.

>80% of the clothes I wear are second hand, bought on eBay, Grailed and Americana Pipedream. eBay has everything you could want, and much better seller/buyer protections than Grailed. Grailed is tolerable for me since the owners sold out hard and made questionable changes, yet I still browse the feed almost every other day and regularly find great deals on vintage CDG and Margiela, as well as workwear. even though I could shop the normal way in theory I prefer to buy everything secondhand. I also hate to buy clothes everyone else is wearing. I have two Goodwills of preference I frequent with regularity; I like to go wild on Poshmark sort low to high with minimal use of keywords and liberal use of custom filters (especially brand); I find some interesting things on eBay from time to time; I like shopping clearance at TheRealReal but they like banned me… sometimes Marshall’s and TJ Maxx have cute stuff. Don’t cancel me but I’m also an Aliexpress diva and I’m in some groups of likeminded ladies about this on the dl. I look for natural fibers, good construction, and, in used garments, a tasteful but not excessive amount of wear

Everything in your life does not have to be subscription based, and subscription does not equate a service being good. If I’m paying $24.99 a month to watch Netflix in 4K UHD, I should expect to see what I pay for, not subpar playback latency, low bitrate streams, many app crashes, and overall looking terrible on anything that isn’t a 4K display.
Remember when you could buy things and own them, like, forever?
There is a better world out there past Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and Amazon Prime.

I have a near-Biblical dislike of Allbirds shoes and every other Tim Cook Jeff Bezos Middle-aged Balding Pickleball coach ass shoe out there for convincing the public that these were in any way cool. No dude, you look like a loser with these. They look bland and lifeless, like they were concocted in the same boardroom that made the flat graphic design trend that Meta and Google love so much. Hell, even notorious ip-infringer Skechers makes better looking shoes than these. They don’t even feel good to wear. They have no soul or personality and yet some people swear by them. Who are these shoes for?
