youtube just has a larger selection of songs from smaller artists as they dont have to worry about trying to get their songs on spotify and artists usually have tons of songs not available on streaming uploaded if not by them personally then by a random not to mention youtube premium lets you not have ads on both music and youtube videos so its like a win win

cannot imagine my online experience without it. Iβm such a YouTube girl itβs a very worthwhile investment. canβt imagine not being able to listen to videos like podcasts!!! and I use it to play music at work so my Spotify wrapped isnβt all ambient stuff hehehe

I've been using Apple Music since 2017-ish except for last year when I tried using Spotify exclusively. I pay for both cause they have super-affordable student plans here in India (~$0.69 per month)
Here are some things I like and dislike about them:

π Sometimes has extra tracks that aren't available on Spotify (e.g. Lana's Is This Happiness from Ultraviolence, beabadoobee's cover of The Adults Are Talking)

π Separate Apple Music Classical app for Classical music enjoyers
π Apple will NUKE your library and all your playlists if you stop your subscription

π Free tier available
π Better social features
π Tons of niche playlists
π Love the giant cover thing on the TV app
π Easier to switch which device the audio is playing from
π Easier to work with 3rd party apps, websites and services
π Spotify Wrapped
π Algorithms better tuned to my specific taste

Sounds better than spotify, usually.
Obviously torrents, bandcamp purchases, and physical media are superior to streaming, but if you're gonna stream music, go with apple music.

complimenting strangers is such a fulfilling experience thats adds some positivity to both you and a strangers day, i think a lot of people are afraid of the other person thinking that they're weird or smth but how many times have you received a passing compliment and thought it was weird prolly not very often not to mention you'll prolly never see them again and you only live once

there's a deep sincerity that comes with talking to someone new to a scene or meeting new people in a hobby or space you enjoy that i feel is lost in the cynicism and inherent negativity of most social media platforms (present company excluded) and i think getting outside and meeting new people in your community is a really beautiful thing that more people should do
