Do your own homework, read the books yourself, do your own writing, dig in, research, engage with different views. AI is not the answer. Reading and writing to develop your own voice is a lifelong pursuit. Your opinions and knowledge are precious things. That pursuit will make you more interesting, more engaging and fill your soul. The ideas you have should be the product of your own experience. Don't cheapen them by outsourcing your education to a server farm. You'll only sell yourself short.

I teach children how to read and write and half the time they go, “I don’t know, I just want to get the answer right” or half the time they don’t even care about that and just don’t want to write. I just want them to learn how to write WELL so that when the time comes, they can say whatever their heart and minds feel. the act of writing is precious but the skill to do it will is priceless.

@LEAHBLEH not only by what you so consume but more importantly by what you create. you learn about yourself by writing and organizing your thoughts and putting image to paper or to pottery wheel. machines can’t do that for you

to speak is human one of the most defiant ways that we can assert our power—our not-duplicable, non-algorithmic, dangerous, and history-altering power—is to write. yes you can feed your prompts into a generative AI chatGPT butthole and it will produce a precise and perfect and appropriate piece of text — but that isn't you! it isn't you to have apple intelligence or google fartelligence rewrite your emails or text messages or essays or love letters It is you to drag your pen across paper, or cursor blinking on screen—to discover, question, argue alone, to know yourself. It is you to write what you shouldn't write—what you aren't allowed to say. To consider the impossible, the illegal or immoral, to wrestle with those things that others would censor or suppress. It is you to yearn, love, grieve through writing: to gift yourself, and maybe others too, that record of your pain and beauty and dynamism.

Write every day. So no to other things in order to write. Share what you write on here and everywhere else. Publish on a blog or a Substack, share links to your work. Don't heed the feedback all that much—good or bad. You know what's in you. Work the muscle of putting it in front of people. Go to a public library and volunteer to start a writing workshop for an underserved group, like people facing homelessness. Write with them when they write.

a study issued last month found that dancing is the most effective way of treating and mitigating depression. Walking, therapy, and yoga also outpaced SSRIs. and if you're saying 'oh this was probably funded by Big Dance', there's no evidence of that and if you're saying 'that's just what a Big Dance shill would say', well honey you're right
