But you are paying for privacy, no ads, no tracking. It lets you sit the rules instead of just riding the waves of the latest version of the you-are-the-product algorithm.
This is a premium search engine that I've heard very good things about. They make a good case for paying for a search engine: free search engines aren't free to begin with. If you don't want your data sold, consider paying for search. They also have an interesting (free) web browser with ad block built in.
