1) i think a lot of people (including myself) have been concerned lately with being on an app that is run by meta and *recent business and political news regarding it*
2) to me, i think a lot of people have become aware recently of how social media as a whole can be damaging when used in excess and for doomscrolling. i think some people feel tied to these type of apps because of fomo and the idea that they can’t find other ways to entertain themselves outside of it. So i think people are just happy to reclaim that control. some people are more susceptible to the “negative” and more reactive aspects of posts than others, and that’s okay, as some people are happy to be inspired by what they see. im someone in the middle where, if i don’t control myself i can be on it for hours. and with even less control i would just find posts that would make me upset after the fact. i mostly use insta now to get fashion inspiration and i only limit my usage to an hour. i want to make sure my experiences online are joyous and/or informative.
@CHIAWASE_ yeah, that's a fair comment. Appreciate the insight. I guess letting go of the hold an app has over you is beneficial and therefore somebody would feel free from deleting the app.
