using pokemon cards as bookmarks

a simple change that has added so much joy to my life as a reader and former pokemon obsessed child. i HATE dogearing my books -- i don't like how it looks or feels. Bookmarks are cool too don't get me wrong, but cards just add a little spice of personalization. Each book I read gets a different card that I think in some way relates to the themes/ideas/plot of the book. <3

Using a different found “bookmark” for each book

then leaving it in the book. it’s often junk like a receipt or some kind of ticket, but here’s some good ones I found: Griffith Observatory ticket from 2019 in Actual Air, Air Maroc ticket to Tunis in One Hundred Years of Solitude, a Christmas card from Erin in Linger On (velvet underground book she gave me).
