i think there's something to be said about how finally finding peace with yourself (after a heartbreak or something similar) can almost feel kind of... wrong? it's innate i think, but it also defeats the entire purpose of getting over your woes in the first place. look back on where you were months ago, so desperately trying to get to the place you are now. embrace it, don't give into the guilt of self-improvement!

guilt is doing something wrong and feeling remorseful, while shame is feeling that you as a whole are wrong. there’s more to it of course, but being conscious of the difference has helped my self confidence immensely.
