e.g. don't buy a $100 dress that mostly sits in the closet, buy a $100 boar-bristle hairbrush instead that you will use for life and will make you feel fancy every day.

many may disagree with me but what i mean is : if you’re gonna buy things, use your things consume the things you choose to purchase.. i only say this as i have hoarder tendencies and i feel guilty when a candle runs out, but i have to remember; that is what it is meant for

with so much Stuff in the world i find the whole concept of buying something brand new a little absurd when it’s so easy to find pre-loved things that are still functional or easily repurposed. every time i deviate from that belief i end up regretting it. this includes every piece of technology i own, a dress i bought last minute to go to a fancy event i was underdressed for, my blender, my electric razor (not so guilty that i bought this new, but still wish i’d splurged and gotten one that would last longer - i can just tell this one is gonna self destruct as soon as it works out how), my docs, and fabric i’ve bought new rather than thrifted. even with socks and undies i feel like i could be making them with thrifted fabric instead of buying the mass produced versions

it makes things so much easier? to just be myself??? I LOVE BEING A REAL PERSON!
i am so much more okay with people not liking me for my innate being than not liking the fake persona i have created.
a fake personality is somewhat like a piece of art. it hurts when someone criticizes your child. your creation.
you can hurt me tho! it’s alright
something to unpack in the future perhaps..
perfectly imperfect :)

listen, middle school sucks. i agree. BUT! hear me out!!
teaching middle schoolers is a genuinely entertaining career.
i think they get such a bad rap because no one really has fond memories of being 13, which makes sense!! going from child to teen and not even really being a teen yet is difficult and confusing. not fun!
but they still have the most random childlike shenanigans that i love to be apart of.
they are little humans who shock me with an f bomb every now and then but also make me origami and paper crowns, and it gives me a reason to wake up in the morning.
