both of them are used for reading purposes specifically I can post my book reviews and thoughts on tumblr and actually interact with others, which I feel is harder on other social media sites (in my experience anyway). as much as it's fun to post reviews into the void, I love talking about things I love with people who also love them !!

There is no judgment and its like a big sleepover with the girlies. You can literally post anything and it doesn’t matter. Also having multiple blogs helps with me having 100 different aesthetics.

Goodreads is a nice place to keep track of books you want to read and find new book recommendations. You can also set a reading goal for the year and track your progress - this motivates me quite a bit! Also, they see audiobooks and regular books as the same, so great! I found some cool people on YouTube that review books and do little reading related videos, it’s very endearing and motivating- and you get some good book ideas. it’s kind of a rabbit hole, here a just a few I like. Bonus, most of them have a goodreads account. Rebecca eats books - linked CJ reads

I’ve been on Tumblr since 2008. I had a blogspot for a while, which stills exists except none of the images were properly embedded so it’s just like, a bunch of text saying things like “i love this picture! i want to kiss somebody! I love music!” Tumblr is, in my opinion, the best social media site out there. It feels like the only place where images and information are passed around, saved and shared in a really earnest and personal way lol. I know twitter sort of works this way, too but I’m just not a twitter person, as much as I’d love to be. It’s also just a really lovely way of saving reference media, and it’s as anonymous as you want it to be. I love to use my tumblr as a mood board for my life. People are also soooo funny on tumblr, and I love the dashboard layout, it’s so soothing to me lol..but maybe it’s soothing because i’ve been using it as a comfort since I was, like, 12. I am rooting for tumblr to survive for as long as possible. Follow me @grossives it’s not that interesting but I give you full permission to scroll back to 2012 when I was reblogging cobra snake pictures of models, and flash photos of crystal blue pool water lol.

I was bullied a lot for my eye color as a kid (because me having very dark brown hair and very dark brown eyes made me look "evil", apparently) and, naturally, began to dislike them. but as I've gotten out of school and away from people who put me down, I've realized how insane it is to bully someone over their eye and hair color and grown to love the color of my eyes. I mean, they may be dark but there's nothing wrong with that. and I can take pretty pictures of my eyes too, I just have to blind myself and almost stare into the sun to do so lol

recently, when I wake up in the morning and have time to kill, I've been spending a bit of time reading before or after I get myself ready to go about the day instead of sitting on my phone when I first wake up. I feel like it helps clear my mind for the day and it feels nice to not immediately scroll when I wake up like I used to

"yap" about the things that interest you all you want; enjoy your hobbies and pour your heart into them, stop worrying about if what you're into is "cringe"; if your friends don't like your hobbies/interests and put you down for enjoying them, find people that will; surround yourself with people you love who love you back and you will be so much happier than the people that are so quick to put others down for pursuing their happiness
