One of the best solo piano tracks I've ever heard, and an album that I am extremely excited for. Turn it on and stare out a window and take it all in.

an amazing release from minimalist composer/multimedia artist Phil Niblock. After his recent passing, I’ve been spending some time focusing on his music and attempting to see hear things as he heard them. ‘Four Full Flutes’ is an absolutely haunting and beautiful record that demands your attention if you are a fan of drone.

Impressionistic piano album by H Hunt released in 2016. I love listening to this album over coffee in the morning while I watch my fish swim and/or any time I'm feeling anxious and stressed. The title is quite literal as it was initially recorded as a Christmas present for the artist's Dad before being released by cool guy UK label tasty morsels. Obviously there's a specific time, place and mood for a solo piano album but this one always hits.

A website with a collection of screengrabs from nearly every movie you could think of, and you can sort by film title, director, cinematographer, year, genre, country, etc. Great for visual references for lookbooks, or just to discover a new film you might be interested in seeing!
I've attached one of my favorite stills, a great moment from Chungking Express (Dir. Wong Kar-Wai, 1994).

Just going out and picking up any kind of used physical media (books, CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes) makes the archivist in me happy, like I’m preserving somebody else’s story/ enjoyment of something
My personal favorite thing is VHS tapes, I’ve got a decent collection (all thrifted) and they’re usually the cheapest things offered
