Ever since the cheese ball guy we have been in a new era. Print out a poster on a4 paper and staple it to a queen street pole and people just show up?!! Truly proving that we gen z can still socialize in real life and I love it!

Maybe this began because we’ve been making show posters for years. Regardless, it’s great fun to establish the theme of your parties and disseminate useful information… no good party happens these days without a poster.

me and my friends organized a mario kart tournament in our local bar, invited a drag queen to host it (she was dressed like mario 😭) and we dj‘d in the background while people were all sitting by tables and watching the game. the crowd was super cute and friendly. the bar let us do our set design thingy so we had video art, flowers and different kinds of cozy lighting. one of our friend was playing a live set using his gear (synthesizers, drum machine etc) and samples from the mario world. he was epic. this was such a wholesome thing to organize, everyone seemed to have a sweet time and the bar staff constantly told us how cute they thought all of this came together. i really appreciate spaces that let artists do their thing and i love how everyone in the room felt united because of the game and the music. i dont really enjoy watching sports in bars but now i get it. its this feeling.

I live in a suburb and have no clue how anyone builds community, but I'm trying to learn. For half a year, I had a monthly part that included movie nights, dinners, and trivia, one of which was French Salon-themed. We all dressed in 19th-century garb, spoke about philosophy, and played the game Dirty Laundry (Thx Dropout). I shut off all the lights in my house and only used candles for the evening. I spent fifteen hours straight cooking and custom menus. Similar night themes included: Tumblr Party, Coming of Age Film, Lesbian Movie Night, Scooby Doo, Summer's End, etc. Overall, good community-building effort, will do it again. Side Note: Despite its career effects on graphic designers, no one has a stranglehold on me more than Canva when making party invitations.

oh boy this one is gonna be controversial. first off to be transparent I am a huge nerd and train models for a living. that being said, I was a huge ai hater for a long time and never used it in anything I did. Then, I started using it a bit for coding, then for research (tool use ftw), then for a whole bunch of simple tasks I wanted to automate but couldn’t w pure code (either due to needing unpredictable input or needing buttons pushed). Is it super useful, not yet. Should we replace people with it, obviously not. But like dude. You can TALK to your computer in ENGLISH (or french, arabic, japanese, etc.) and it will understand you and respond. I think the like crazy shift in human - computer interaction here is kinda slept on ngl, I fw this heavy now.
