popcorn gives legendary by stephanie garber three stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
this sequel to caraval is told from a new POV - donatella. popcorn did not love this and found the characterization of scarlett very out of character compared to the first book.
this book was also SLOW. not much seemed to happen until the last few pages.
popcorn did enjoy getting to meet jacks pre-once upon a broken heart. however reading that sequel series first lowered the stakes of this one a bit. we’ve met many fates and they weren’t all evil villains.

popcorn originally read this last year and gave it 4.5 stars. however, upon listening to the excellent audiobook by alex picard, popcorn has upped his rating to five stars. the narration really helped popcorn not get stuck trying to pronounce all the ancient egyptian names.
popcorn loves the character development given to ellie and adam, and is obsessed with the addition on constance. she rocks.
popcorn is excited to hear more about كلب the puppy in book three although he wishes for a kitten character.

this was clara’s second time reading this book. she chose to listen to the excellent audiobook narrated by alex picard.
clara loves this series and thinks everyone should pick it up. a lot of books are described as similar to the mummy but this is that and more. the book’s setting of british hondurus is well researched and despite being 450 pages, the book is well paced and never feels like it drags.
