I've seen people talking about how doomscrolling is filler time and you make no memories. 100%!!! Like I'll be bored for one second and then I'm on TikTok for two hours and that isn't an exaggeration. The other day I just let myself be bored and not scroll and like yeah I was super bored but I walked around the house and I took in my actual life a little bit and then I found something to do and I just felt like I gained my time back kind of. I also just think recently I've felt like I have to time to do the stuff that's important to me or that I enjoy but really I've just been sucked into a scrolling black hole and that suddenly I have time to do anything I want!

i realized how important time is by making myself bored and putting my phone down. doomscrolling is my biggest enemy.

no one is bored, everything is boring. making time in your day to be decidedly bored, unoccupied, off your phone, wandering lousily, a tiny bit lazy, and creative is very refreshing.

i feel like i gotta let myself be bored more. i freak out when i have nothing stimulating or nothing to do, but in a society that relies so heavily on productivity and buying stuff, how about i just let myself have nothing to do? and allow the feelings that come with it i guess. half the time im only doing things to show people i do things.

... is such a gift and an art. Letting yourself reach the point of boredom is the more efficient way for your brain to reset and heal. Recently, I spent 2 months exploring the bounds of my free time, free schedule, and free brain space until finally reaching the point of "okay, I could use some structure and rigor again" was the only thing that has genuinely healed me from a traumatic workplace after a merciful layoff. Not rushing into the next thing saved me, especially being able to let my boredom tell me "you're ready to get back to it."

I don't really enjoy pillows like I prefer my head to be at body level if I'm flat on my back. And I like to lay on a more rigid surface than a mattress so a nice hard floor is peeeerfect

Need to take my own advice on this one. I'll scroll and scroll and scroll but I actually feel good when I get the journal/sketchbook out and learn something about myself.
