i often find myself forgetting about books in the middle of reading them just because of how long it take me to get through them. but a PLAY?? done in a day maximum. high stakes, high drama, everything you want in a story wrapped up in a neat 80 page bow. plus, stage direction and character description allow you to paint your own idea of how this would/should/could look on stage, kinda like how you imagine books as movies while reading them! i love it!

reading plays

for the longest time i was not reading recreationally as much as i used to and i felt really bad about it so to get back into it i started reading more plays. it's also nice to own copies of plays. maybe it's the theater kid in me but i think it's just the best.

Unashamedly reading how -To’S AND TEXTBOOKS

for some reason there’s an embarrassment around starting from scratch + opening oneself up to learning the basics esp if you feel “behind”. trying to release from that in playwriting and the result has been great. taste and gut are still paramount but growing the toolbox is so fruitful
