I have no frame of reference but LA seems like a place where group fitness particularly thrives.
I go to Rodeo Athletic Club. It’s both chill and challenging.
Didn’t feel like going yesterday, went, and and was better for it.

Going to a cheap gym filled with real people from every background on their grind to be better…makes you think

I got into weight lifting for the same reason I get into most things, which is pure unbridled vanity. I read or heard somewhere in my many biohacker information channels that weight lifting is the most anti-aging form of exercise, especially for women, and so I was like on my way! I wasn’t about to pay some community college bro $100 an hour at my LA Fitness to train me though so I just googled “weight lifting classes near me” and because I live a charmed and bless life I found the fucking coolest independent gym like a mile from my house and have been going there for almost a year. Vanity aside, it just makes you feel so good all the time. I love watching myself get stronger and I love the feeling after you lift something really heavy you thought you could never have lifted and I love all the neighborhood friends I’ve made there, including former PI subject and possibly coolest girl alive Petra Cortright. (Honestly a large part of my social life takes place there?) Anyway everyone over 30 should lift weights, preserve your waning muscle mass and build up your self-esteem babe.

go to the gym. i was kinda scared of going to the gym at first due to self-esteem, but after going for about nearly a month now its like i dont care. you might think youre being judged or you just dont fit into that type of place. i can assure you though the people there are also just trying to better themselves. they are also so nice & uplifting, no pun intended.
my favorite thing to do is the treadmill & calf extensions. i highly recommend the treadmill, if you want to be simple, especially on an incline of 12-15 percent at a 3-3.2 speed. another thing i recommend is stretching; sometimes parts of our bodies go over looked in our day to day life and they tend to tighten up. stretching will make you feel much more agile!

I always feel a bit false when asked to curate recommendations or think of my favorites. While it's good to take stock of what was truly enriching, it's also nice to think the things I'm actually doing & consuming day in and day out are worthwhile. And if they're not worth sharing, maybe there are changes to be made.

I wonder if fifty years from now I’ll see this as a weird fad/kool aid we are all sipping or an essential practice. Right now it feels amazing.
