maybe it’s elitist and privileged to not support mass produced art and that art takes time and artists deserve compensation and cheap or affordable art isn’t always available okay I get it. BUT!!! there are also so many artists that are new and upcoming that can probably sell affordable art as they make their way into selling higher priced items. so can we avoid mass produced art and buy from budding artists that aren’t crazy expensive? if so, how do we find them?? (The example provided is a Russian art collection my aunt bought in the 80s that, unfortunately, never sold well).

Pretty sick, went with a friend and it was very funny. $14 Movie Theater IPAs were hitting in a fantastic way. Then we went to see the second half of the Knicks game in some dive in the Village. It was a great time, stumbled on the escalator in front of strangers. 10/10

I have another indie theater that I prefer because it’s cozier, has better vibes, is much closer to me, and everybody who works there is genuinely passionate about film. It’s not really anything special visually but it’s a beautiful institution and it’s so fun to be there ❤️ But this one is an old art deco theatre designed by architect John Eberson (he designed Loew’s Paradise in the Bronx and the Paradise Theatre in Chicago)! It’s pretty run down/poorly managed and staffed but it’s a gorgeous building and definitely worth visiting. Not my photos but included for illustrative purposes!!

sometimes I want a messy desk, sometimes I want a clean desk. one is probably more real than the other but life is nuanced and we dont have to be one thing always.

i was 26 and in a really rough spot in my life, very much rock bottom. So I prayed for some kind of sign or way out, and I started getting all these signs for Nashville. And I’m not a superstitious person, but the “signs” were impossible to not notice. Like, I told a friend about it and she said “I was just about to call you and ask if you want to come to nashville for some meetings this week, I felt like I should bring you.” Anyways thru that connection, i got a job at a nonprofit here. But here’s the advice: my life SUCKED my first year here. My roommate was awful, I was anxious and I actually missed home. I didn’t know anybody in Nashville why had I done this? But I stuck around and got thru it and now I’m at so much peace. So I guess, moving isn’t even the hard part sometimes. It’s staying. But I think one year can tell you if I the worth it to stay or find someplace else. But ya just gotta do it.
