I hate protein bars usually, the chalkiness is so gross and it feels like I’m eating to survive rather than eating to enjoy. I’ve tried sooo many different protein bars and I swear none are good EXCEPT Mezcal Bars. I’m actually obsessed with them, and they are even vegan!! They call themselves ā€œpuff-crispyā€ bars because they are made of puffed pea crisps that give it the crispy texture and 10g of protein. I know it’s not like a ton of protein but it’s still way better than eating just a granola bar. My favorite is the pistachio flavor and the maple blueberry flavor. I get them at whole foods and they are a bit pricey, as all bars are, but I’ve put sooo many people onto these. They are so good to just carry around in your bag incase you get hungry or someone around you starts getting hangry.

I need to try these. I want to get more protein in but exactly as you said they feel like chalky survival rations. This might save me.

If you’re from brooklyn or new york city or just moved here, i know, this is cliche. But i! Don’t! Care! The truffle popcorn is addicting, even if I'm farting for the rest of the movie, it’s worth it. Plus they have cute little trailers to gab about with your date or friend, but i also go alone because nobody tried to have small talk with you at the movies and you can just disassociate peacefully in blissful high-power air conditioning on a hot nyc summer day. They have guest curators on a monthly basis and do fun screenings of old flicks. Highly recommend it. Nitehawk > Alamo.

Again, I'm using this category as an umbrella so I can list my favorite movies that I think by watching will make everyone's life better or at least distract you from whatever bullshit is going on in your own life for a moment, and put a smile on your face. Maybe you'll even relate to what the characters in the films are going through and you'll feel a little bit less alone and it will change your life forever. These are my favorite movies that I watch over and over again: An Unmarried Woman, Swingers, Annie Hall, Broken English, Girlfriends. Last Days of Disco, and Hannah and Her Sisters.Ā And one of my favorite theaters to watch movies in in New York City is Metrograph. A sanctuary. A safe haven. The programming is extraordinary. And they have a wonderful restaurant upstairs called The Commissary. Run don't walk.

It always feels like it’s going to be wayyy more debilitating than it actually is. It’s funny because in the moment it’s so frustrating and I beat myself up like wow I’m so impatient why didn’t I just wait like great now my tongue is going to feel weird/hurt for the next few days blah blah blah… but I swear like 30 minutes later I completely forget about it. It’s funny because it doesn’t even hurt that badly, I’m just usually upset by the inconvenience it presumably will cause for the next few days, but I actually can’t remember a time when it has lasted more than a few hours. A good reminder that we tend to remember the bad things in life way more than the good things (negativity bias), which cause our anxieties to become heightened in preparation for when we think bad things might take place, but more often than not, nothing bad happens, or if it does, it’s not that bad. Try to focus on the good!

Washing my face twice a day every day and always hyper conscious to make sure not to get my sleeves wet. I hate the feeling of wet sleeves. Constantly worrying about this makes the process tense and unenjoyable. This morning, I was wearing a bathrobe and my sleeves wouldn’t stay up. Normally when this happens, I am just sure to wash my face very carefully and try really hard not to get water on my sleeves, but today I decided I was tired of dreading this routine part of my day. I realized there was simply no reason I couldn’t enjoy washing my face. So I thought today, we will enjoy washing our face and embrace the wet sleeves. The water was warm on my face and quickly trickled down my arms, soaking my (very plush) bathrobe. It felt really nice to just relax and enjoy washing my face without caring about my sleeves. I had to ring out the sleeves after because they absorbed so much water lol. Maybe this is not relatable and I just have aggressive sensory issues, but it felt so nice to just not care about have wet sleeves for once!

Anything maple flavored. Maple sea salt especially. Maple is just so good
