woke up at 2am. Unaware of when or how I’d fallen asleep in the first place. now at 5 almost 6am I’m piecing it all together. it was yesterday at like 4:30p. I thought how tired I felt so I laid down for a sec scrolling through my phone. And then I was out. Sometimes the body will do what you least expect it to. I’ve been learning a lot about that and my own vessel but this is a new one within the genre of rest.

when u pass out and wake up eight-ten hours later in the exact same position... that's real sleep. that's the body deciding it needs to dedicate all available resources to sorting itself out. you are being RESTED.

consciously experiencing sleep when u wake up at 3:23am and check ur phone and then settle back into sleep, feeling it come back over you like a nice warm blanket under your already physical nice warm blanket

I’ve never been able to sleep so any and every minute of it that i can enjoy, i take it. Sadly, in old age (when i turned 25 last yr), i always wake up between 3 and 6am. I call them my “sleep breaks” and used to spend them sending tiktoks to someone but now i spend them writing down my dreams/ideas or being introspective in the dark until the urge to sleep comes back. Today im spending it writing these recs and listening to fiona. Yall be easy today though, think sleeping is back, godspeed!

Such a fan of hearing older men nerd out about astronomy and the moon One guy had a contraption that connected to his telescope and allowed you to see through the lens of your phone. got this photo of our stunning gal in her full glory with craters out and all. 🥹 Love being reminded of how tiny and finite we are.

went to my roommates boyfriend‘s art show last minute and did not regret. Definitely didn’t know what I was getting myself into and despite my exhaustion peaking 15 min into our time at the gallery i very much enjoyed it. 100 artists had their artwork featured in various fridge doors. Very beautiful concept.

I know a book is good if I’m tearing up. And this one did just that. Very sad. Very beautiful. Very heartbreaking. Written from the a journaling perspective of the main character who’s mentally disabled and becomes the perfect candidate for a surgery that allows him to be a functioning member to society and experience life from a new perspective.
