never underestimate a gas station run
there’s something about a bag of chips, some candy, and little drink that is healing to my inner 13 year old. i love the fact that i can get something, or a bunch of tiny something’s. a colorful slurpee that will dye my tongue, potato chips that will stick to my teeth and sugar that will coat my insides, while the lady who has probably worked there ten years calls me sweetie and a guy who’s smoked cigarettes since he was a kid is ordering his usual. i think of the late nights i spent there as a kid and now as an adult i go there before sundown in the middle of winter.

Yesss, when I was very little, me and my brother used to watch movies frequently together, or just play some games, we would walk to a nearby market and buy thing, I would always get some gummy worms and bears, we would get a bag of gummy fruits and a Dr pepper, I don't remember what we watched most of the time, but I remember those tiny moments

- when I lived in Austin there was a cute CBD cold brew shop near my house, I went every friday and their homemade sweet cream was 11/10 - a couple of trader joes mini peanut butter cups - anything sour or gummy - a drunk cigarette or two

Buying candy from a gas station for movie night
Buy all your favorite candies! My brother is coming over to watch Dune: Part 1 before we see the new one tomorrow. Got a haul of sweets for us tonight.

savoring what you got
hanged out with one of my nieces yesterday. she wanted to have movie night (really, afternoon) and her dad allowed her to buy one candy for each year she has walked this earth (two). but wow, she savored the fuck out of those candies. like, they lasted forever. she would probably ace the marshmallow test.
there's a life lesson for all of us here: buy more candy so you don't have to lick the few you've got for an eternity.

no actually
i don’t want to have a “thick skin” about everything, maybe we should all just be nicer to each other. when did we come up with the concept that being sensitive is bad? i’m sensitive and i like it. the world doesn’t have to hit me and i just get back up, maybe i will cry a little bit.
