I’m personally starting to tire of short form videos and starting to enjoy vlogs again. I feel theres a good possibility tiktokers will make the shift to youtube the way viners migrated to youtube when vine got shut down.

I rekindled my love for Youtube again as well! I used watch so many cooking videos and vlogs on Youtube. I really think people will be quick to migrate to Youtube again especially because Youtube has shorts now too!

I honestly wouldn’t mind that, I miss just having good YouTube content play as a backtrack while doing crafty hobbies. I do think the short form videos on tik tok have kind of destroyed people’s attention span, but at the same time its algorithm was amazing and again it was so great for spreading information fast.

The way that tiktok as changed everyother social media is insane. I think consuming short videos started with vines, and then it lead to the creation of musically and it's transformation to its final form... tiktok 😰(haha). Now every app as its own place for 10 second videos, Youtube as Shorts and Instagram as Reels. But is it really necessary? I just wish there was a way where i could take reels of my instagram explore page.

why did i ever stop watching them, idk. but i deleted tiktok off my phone and have been trying to find different ways to fill my time. so now i put youtube on and watch music videos. i recommend you do the same

Being a short-form video hater
I loathe short-form videos (tik-tok, IG reels, etc.). Every time I'm lured into watching one, I feel like I'm stuck in an episode of black mirror or starring in a clockwork orange. I can feel my attention span getting chiseled away with every vacuous second - and don't even get me started on the endless echo of copies and references. Okay, I'm done with my old person rant now.

Why is this such a lost art? Bring together those friends that would never have met other wise. Make the people you love, love each other. I recently had a small birthday wine n dine with my friends and anticipated awkwardness between my different groups of friends, but it was the complete opposite. God I love my friends and love making a space for them to mingle and laugh in eeeee. I think in a time where my friends and I are transitioning to adulthood and focusing on careers, this brings something to look forward to and a way to create a world outside of work and study.
