The way that tiktok as changed everyother social media is insane. I think consuming short videos started with vines, and then it lead to the creation of musically and it's transformation to its final form... tiktok 😰(haha). Now every app as its own place for 10 second videos, Youtube as Shorts and Instagram as Reels. But is it really necessary? I just wish there was a way where i could take reels of my instagram explore page.

It’s so stupid how apps copy each other. If you were on Snapchat at the time when they introduced “stories” with the circular bubble UI at the top of the screen, it felt like every app immediately took to copying it. Facebook/Instagram added stories. Youtube added stories for a while (not sure if it still exists). Even Twitter (when it was Twitter) had their own version. It’s ridiculous and ruins the niches each service is supposed to provide. Now we’re just eating the same reheated slop on different platforms. Watching TikToks about reels. Watching insagram stories about tiktok trends/tiktok audio clips I don’t understand. It makes me feel like an old person, and I desperately need these kids off my damn lawn.

Now that I have a new phone I have enough storage to redownload Tik Tok. I love to make videos on it but the for you page isn't as good as Instagram Reels TBH

CONFLICTED

I've found some amazing and inspiring things via reels as I don't use tiktok. But it has completely changed the trajectory of the Instagram experience. THEY EVEN CHANGED THE GRID DIMENSIONS. It's addictive and now my friends only send me reels as communication so actually it's more harmful than good.

I feel like we've gotten used to the ideia that social medias have to have negativaty and loneliness. This app feels like a literal breath of fresh air.
