It’s so cost efficient to take public transportation, and it forces you to interact with the world and observe your community. It‘s one of our last truly forced communal experiences. For these reasons and some more, I boycott Uber.
However, that one extremely rainy day right after your check hit, or sometimes if you get too far lost in the wrong direction, it makes all the sense to call a car: and on that day I will feel like a side character in Gossip Girl.
