It’s so cost efficient to take public transportation, and it forces you to interact with the world and observe your community. It‘s one of our last truly forced communal experiences. For these reasons and some more, I boycott Uber. However, that one extremely rainy day right after your check hit, or sometimes if you get too far lost in the wrong direction, it makes all the sense to call a car: and on that day I will feel like a side character in Gossip Girl.

I’m in San Diego where transit is inconvenient at best, so I still almost always drive because even paying a valet is less expensive than ride shares

especially the subway, like for me i’m near the boroughs i’m on long island, and whenever i go subways just feels so both gross and unconditionally familial. odd what to describe it

i usually never take ubers but i’ve taken 3 in the past 3 days despite the financial irresponsibility, so luxurious and convenient i will keep it up with a light mind and heart until the anxiety eventually reaches me, until then, au revoir

i love being chauffeured around the city in buses and trains! i love spending my commute reading or writing in my phone. i love getting to know the quirks and styling habits of the people who take same the train i take. i love walking!! i love complaining about the weather when it makes walks miserable! i like looking at my step counter on my phone and knowing that i hit 10k steps every day without even trying. public transit makes me feel like i own the world. i see people in their cars and they seem pathetic, losers who can’t navigate their city without trapping themselves a 4k pound hunk of metal. what princesses. could NOT be me!

Taking an uber after taking public transport around most places lately and it’s making me really appreciate how good at driving bus drivers are. Why is this uber making me nauseous. Bless all the public transport drivers out there.

Let it out , legend. On friendship: have a fart contest! On relationship: maybe they’re into that sort of thing 👀 On family: I think all families at some point smell each other’s farts and I’m sure it’s part of our primordial bond.

This Cy Twombly playlist was particularly good, I also find peace in some Monet playlists. This does also apply to other forms of media, such as authors and influencers, films etc. I watched the Substance and found a lot of European 2000s house music through those lists. I just finished Cookie Mueller’s Walking Through Clear Water in A Pool Painted Black (apologies if it’s not the exact title of the book, I’m not motivated to look it up at the moment) but her lists are full of Nico and The Velvet Underground. If your favorite artists dont already have playlists, make them one yourself!
