Been listening to this song on repeat for 30 min while i cook my sister dinner. I have been a Destroyer fan since I was about 15. One of my friends gave me a mix cd from her older sister right before rubies came out. I don’t know why my experience with other Destroyer fans since then has always been repressed indie guys in tired flannel shirts because the music is more interesting than that. I don't think those guys even like it. they just stand immobile with their arms crossed at their shows, scowling. dan has one of the most emotional voices i know, at least for me

People who say it's merely LCD Soundsystem ripoff or whatever...bro...have you ever heard of a genre? Harrison brings his own special sauce to the electroclash sound, and most importantly, it's fun as hell! Very refreshing in an age where pop music feels stiff and calculated.
All the singles are great, especially Perfume. The slower ballads ("Elevation" and "You Can Never Go Home") are a nice change of pace, and the earworm All Night better be a hit. Love the Dylan Brady co-produced I Destroyed Disco too, provocative lines like "what's a blogger to a rocker what's a rocker to The Dare" are bound to bother some Twitter-brained music "fans" I'd think.
But yeah. Go into this album expecting a good ass time and make up your own mind.

Sometimes I'll be deep, deep in the throes of existential dread, oscillating between ennui at best and utter spiritual fatigue at the lowest (this is what chatGPT told me I was feeling), then I'l find an old photo of me and my twin sister. It's like a wink from the universe reminding me that we chose to be here together, and that's really the only thing that matters anyway. So I put the picture on my fridge.
