Believer rising from the ashes back to near the height of its power is amazing. Artforum still is generally good, tho I'll prob pivot to a different mag once my subscription is up.

I mean it still covers literature and pop culture and comics and art in thoughtful ways. And they're back under their old publishers now.

I discovered this physical publication when I was a freshman in college and it's one of my favorite magazines by far. It has so many interesting essays ranging from tech, linguistics, to personal memoirs-- one of my favorite essays was one about the significance of Italian-American slang in understanding immigrant cultural identity across generations. It's honestly worth subscribing to (or at least checking out from your local library!).

Even if you end up having to go somewhere else, there still will be culture to get involved in, people to meet, things to learn, realizations to be made. All of that is still right there for you and it will be open in a way you won't even realize until you've done like a year or two. So it's truly still exciting times. As long as you feel generally good about the place you ultimately choose, your time is coming.
