Weirdly enough, today I felt an urge to start my day listing what I’m thankful for. On the list was my imperfect home that keeps us safe & warm, my wife & daughter, friends & family that support us, jobs that allow us to grow, etc. — everything! I think gratitude is something we need to practice. The more you do it, the better you get at it. Eventually, even in a low season you’ll have the eyes to look around and find gratitude in everything.

I'm grateful I have a warm home and nutritious food to eat, and I'm grateful my loved ones are healthy physically, emotionally, mentally.
That's really it, every day. My beautiful life could change so suddenly. Someone could get sick. We could lose our home. We could not have access to the delicious food we do. What a gift this lil life is.

my new thing is legit I just have to only look at what’s THERE not what’s lacking. Like theres a bajillion things I don’t have but each one is ultimately so random and the stuff I have is so wonderful. if I think about how I don’t have X what’s to stop me from thinking about how I don’t have Y??? at least the stuff I have is finite and proven which makes it easier to appreciate

I was just about to go to bed but I couldn't until i wrote this out. I personally don't believe in God, but sometimes I think who have I gotten so lucky. Is it luck or is it a greater being that has rewarded my good deads with such a wonderful life? I often get down about aspects of my life such as working in a coffee shop 4 days a week or feeling a little lost creatively but I forget all the remarkable things that i have been blessed with. The small things get me; I have never in my life felt more loved and inspired thanks to both my romantic relationship plus my platonic ones. I have a desire to learn and explore, which is a feeling I've never felt. Take time out of your day to appreciate and reflect on what makes your life worth living, it may be small or large, just allow that feeling of admiration to take over your mind and body.

I feel like there’s a special connectivity on this app that I haven’t felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010’s tumblr. The fact that you can’t promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isn’t mass video content like Tik Tok is great. It’s not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup).
Thanks for your participation on this niche little app. I smile reading all the recs and all the comments and all the asks. Hope we’ll all be here for a long time.

florinegrassenhopper riotgrrrl brendanooooo slowdazzle buck_mcgraw and indianjones — we did it. Not only did we successfully meet for drinks, but we also schemed the hostile takeover of this app from tyler tonight.
In all seriousness — weird that an app I downloaded in April would make genuinely want to drive back into Brooklyn during end of day traffic for a happy hour. Great app filled with great people.

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. It’s made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love. I just never thought I’d feel the same way about URL friends. I’m constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed. It’s nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. I’m going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
