utterly demented film I enjoyed more than I thought? funny to watch in America where Robbie Williams isn’t known at all but I couldn’t go a night out without hearing him when I was in the UK. some fun surrealism, cool big song and dance sequences, the monkey thing works really well and pays off in what is the most audacious thing I’ve seen as of late

One of the more interesting and original movies I’ve seen this year. It’s more than the premise suggests, and way more than your typical wannabe Kaufman and/or Kafka story. Provocative, daring, and really quite funny.
Also I can’t get “I Wanna Get Next To You” out of my head.

brilliant. beautiful and funny and heartwrenching and silly and all around fantastic. the more i think about this movie the more i love it. tells an unconventional tale of self-confidence, self-sabotage, regret and jealousy, etc etc the ending was a bit silly but i can look past it lol. what a fantastic cast and fantastic production. they frame things throughout as if it were to look like a stage production only for that to be the eventual main plot point. one of my favorite scenes (if not films) of the year
