When we found them we thought they were girls until their second doctor visit. My girlfriend and I named them Agatha and Christie after the mystery novelist. We call them Aggie (orange cat) and Crusty or Gordo (white cat) now. They’re at the age of rebellion and being little shits, Gordo peed in my Telfar and knocked over the trash can last night. Aggie likes to eat veggies, I think he likes the crunch in his teeth. I love them so. 💖

Charlie is a literal dumpster cat. I walked to my local gas station one night and he crawled out from under their dumpster and waited outside the gas station door and then rubbed on me and let me pick him up and carry him home. He is smarter than the average orange. Greta was snatched up by my SO outside a crack house because he knows how deeply I adore torties. She is amazing. Leon is the sweetest big-little boy. He was dumped nearby and found his way to my yard. One of the local ferals had bitten him and it was infected, so I brought him in and he let me shave the fur around his abscess. He is baby. Lady was also dumped but as an elder cat. She had her kittens by my back door one easter morning. After weaning she got fixed and so did the kittens. Kittens got homes and she stayed on the back porch. She now barges her way in and out of the house as it pleases her. Fizgig was found under our propane tank. Fully feral, not weaned but her mom went MIA so we used a crab net to catch her and get her inside. Charlie adopted her as his own and she loves him and hates everyone else.

any variation on the theme is the name of the street cat that lives by my friend’s place. any time there’s a group of folks hanging out in their back yard he comes over and does the rounds, usually picking a stranger’s lap to be his dedicated throne for the evening. this is me paying the scritches tax a few months ago but he was hanging out snatching turkey scraps at our friendsgiving last night. scrongly is a beautiful name for a cat.
